The Pax Passad backdraft damper prevents the airflow from moving in the wrong direction. The backdraft damper prevents draft or wind from blowing directly into the room when the fan is not on and when the basic ventilation of the building has been taken care of in some other way. Suitable for Pax Passad 00, 30 and Multi fans.
The Pax Passad backdraft damper can be replaced with a shaft guard installed on the fan when the fan is installed directly through an external wall. The backdraft damper is only retrofitted to the fan if the fan is not installed for continuous operation.

NOTE! A backdraft damper must not be used in a gravity ventilation duct (ceiling/chimney), because air exchange must not be prevented. A backdraft damper is directly harmful if the fan is installed in the ceiling, blowing directly onto the roof.
