EI144E is a mains-powered optical smoke alarm with battery backup. The EI144E is easy to install thanks to the included Easi-fit base, and it can also be installed in place of old alarms in the same base. The EI144E is a heat detector equipped with a fast-acting A1 class heat sensor. It detects sudden increases in temperature quickly. The alarm operates on 230 V mains power and is powered by a user-replaceable 9 V battery. The battery guarantees up to 3 years of continuous operation in the event of a power failure. The alarm is supplied with an Easi-fit mounting base, which allows for quick and simple installation and easy removal and replacement. It is also compatible with old Easi-fit bases. The EI144E works well as a complement to smoke alarms and can be daisy-chained with other compatible EI alarms. Up to 20 devices can be connected to each other. When connected to the EI1529RC, the user can locate, silence and test the alarms remotely. The alarm automatically checks the battery voltage and indicates a fault condition with a short beep every 40 seconds. The large test button allows the user to check the sound signal, battery voltage and internal circuitry at any time. The memory function makes it easy to identify an activated alarm. This is indicated by two red LED flashes every 40 seconds for 24 hours after the event.
